It is tempting to remind ourselves of past offenses or remind others of theirs. It is challenging, at times, to let go of the guilt even after we ask God for forgiveness. The truth is that no sin is too much for God to forgive. Praying for forgiveness requires faith; When we ask God to forgive us for something we did wrong, we need to believe He has forgiven us. It doesn’t matter what you did wrong; the first step is to always come before God, asking Him for forgiveness.

Most great men in the Bible did terrible things, and they asked God for forgiveness, and God forgave them. David committed adultery with Bathsheba, and after regretting what he did, he prayed to God, asking Him for forgiveness; this prayer is found in Psalm 51, one of my favorite scriptures. God loved David so much; He called him the man after his heart. Paul was an amazing preacher of the Gospel. He preached the message of salvation and taught people the Love of God after experiencing it himself.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Psalm 51:10-12

God loves you, and He will never stop loving you. In the Bible, we find so many promises of God about His love for us and His forgiving heart. It is hard sometimes to embrace God’s forgiveness because we keep looking at our sin and not at our Saviour, Jesus Christ, in whom we find salvation. Do you find yourself most of the time feeling guilty about something you did wrong, even after asking God for forgiveness? It’s time to lift your eyes to the cross. Jesus Christ died on the cross to wash away all our sins, and sin no longer has control over our lives through His death and resurrection. The victory of Christ lives in us too.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

Open your heart today to receive God’s forgiveness; God is a God of second chances. You never lose an opportunity with God. His door of Love and Mercy is always open to all. He welcomes you today.

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18

“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Jeremiah 33:34.
