I will begin by saying that I am very grateful for this topic about temptations and weaknesses. It came to my heart today. I have been thinking all day about how sometimes we come close to giving up on our relationship with God just because we think we are too weak and undeserving of God’s love. I have been there. I still go through such moments.
The truth is, we being humans, we are vulnerable to so many things. Sinful things. Jesus Christ faced temptations, and His followers faced them too. We are facing them too. God is not surprised by them.
Do not be ashamed of your weakness. Do not hide them from God. Paul said in 2Corinthians 12 that he takes pleasure in his weakness. “When I am weak, then I am strong.” 2Cor 12:10. God sometimes allows trials and weaknesses to help us grow in our faith and journey with Him. Through our weakness, we develop patience, empathy, love, peace, kindness, self-control, etc.
Jesus would not have come to the world to save us if we could do that ourselves. We were in desperate need of a savior. We needed Jesus. We need Him every day. Jesus died on the cross; He rose again on the third day to declare victory over the devil. Jesus defeated the devil. He never gave in to the devil’s temptation.
Friends, I encourage you all to place your hope in Jesus. Read His Word, and let them guide your walk with the Lord. God is not mad at you. The truth is, He knows you much more than you know yourself. The things we are afraid of are the things that have power over us. God does not encourage fear. He fills us with courage and power.
Today, as the bible says in Hebrews 4: 14 – 16, go before Christ in prayer. Tell Him about your weakness. Ask Him to fill your life with strength and power to overcome daily temptations. Remember, take smaller steps, be obedient, and never stop trusting God. Quit hiding in the dark, and come to light. Come to Christ. He welcomes you, just the way you are.
God bless.
Your Friend,
Edmund. x
